EDITOR'S NOTE
Previously,
God has shown us the differences in the nature of the three sons of
Mr. Nigeria along political, economic and even religious lines. We have
discovered that these differences were the deliberate workings of the
All-wise creator intended to beautify us and accentuate our greatness in
the community of nations rather than divide us.
As we promised in the last edition, in this third and concluding part of the series "God's Blueprint for Nigeria", we bring to you the Common Purpose That Will Drive The Nigerian Dream.
Friend,
I testify that reading this post has sufficiently enlightened me so
much so that I could easily predict the future of Nigeria if and when
God's recommendations are followed as outlined.
Naija, I bear witness with God and the author, Macpaul Ifeanyichukwu Okolo, "we don't need common blood to live together; all we need is a common purpose..." And HERE IS IT.
Read on and discover God's blueprint on the common purpose that will drive the Nigerian dream.
COMMON PURPOSE THAT WILL DRIVE THE NIGERIAN DREAM
The
three sons of Mr. Nigeria have each received blessings from the all-wise
creator, each according to the measure of his ability.
As
we concluded before, in order to actualize their God-given destinies, Mr. Nigeria must
create a conducive environment that fosters the pursuit of a COMMON PURPOSE that
allows each one to freely deploy his God-given abilities, skills and natural endowments
as well as pursue his happiness within the framework of written rules without
any hinderances!
I
am obliged to repeat that God is NOT talking about a socioeconomic vision often
tied to specific period like Vision 2020. Rather, God is
talking about a document that will not only outline a political and social
engineering but will serve as a
MORAL COMPASS that galvanizes various interests into a common pursuit that
drives the Nigerian Dream without hindering their differences.
Often
people talk about constitution as if it is a strange lucky charm. Whereas before a constitution will be useful, it must be
seen more as a moral compass than a legal instrument.
It
is this moral strength of the document that drives national behavior instead of
waking up in the middle of nowhere to begin national orientation with mere
slogans and media headlines.
(It
is important to make sure that this document of common purpose is jointly
written by the brothers themselves because two cannot walk together unless they
agreed.)
Hitherto, the three sons of Mr. Nigeria have wasted lots of
precious time trying to navigate into their future without using the proper
compass.
As it is with individuals, families and corporations, a nation does not
get what she wishes but what she is.
Nigeria
can only rise, overcome her challenges and achieve greatness by drawing up a
charter of common purposes that will drive the Nigerian dream.
The
common purpose will revolve around the following:
1.
HOW WE WANT TO LIVE (Life philosophy)
2.
HOW WE WANT TO WORSHIP (Religious Values)
3.
HOW TO WORK (Work Culture)
4.
HOW TO REST AND RECREATE (Enjoying Life OR Leisure Ideals)
1. HOW WE WANT TO LIVE
First of all, we must admit that man is a free moral agent.
Therefore, any society that tries to deny his rights or limit his freedom will
meet with anarchy.
Consequently, OUR FOREMOST PURPOSE IS TO LIVE AS FREE PEOPLE WHOSE RIGHTS
ARE GUARANTEED AND PROTECTED. That is, an egalitarian society where justice, equity and equal
rights for all reign supreme.
In 1815, all the rulers of Europe agreed to adopt the teachings of
Christ on charity, peace and justice as the basis for their foreign policy (and
civilization). Nigeria can do the same.
2. HOW WE WANT TO WORSHIP
History confirms that the two foremost religions share a common
ancestry - both are from the lineage of the Patriarch Abraham. Similarly, both
believe in the existence of one supreme Almighty God / Allah. Thus, (WE SHOULD SHARE A
COMMON THANKSGIVING / PRAYER DAY TO THANK GOD FOR UNFAILING HARVESTS AND ASK
HIM FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF OUR SINS.)
3. HOW TO WORK
No matter how legally sound a constitution is,
without a moral duty to work, poverty and rags will overtake such society.
We should emphasize WORK, FOR WORK IS GOOD. Work is the common denominator of every
economic system in the world. There is no economic system that can work without
work.
Work is the only economic activity you
don't need to go to school, earn a degree or have money before you can do -
EVERYONE CAN WORK.
4. REST AND RECREATION
We must think up and agree on how we want to rest and recreate.
Whatever is not recharged will discharge. No one can sustain inspiration/motivation
and maximize productivity without adequate rest and recreation. Where there is
no rest, people go blind in their soul.
We must make it a part
of the Nigerian dream that REST IS A GIFT FROM GOD WE MUST ENJOY!
When people are
tired, they lose steam and become unproductive; they make more mistakes, cause great
damage and incur losses.
Sad
but true, this is where Nigeria has been in the past 50yrs.
This
is the time to move on to the Nigerian dream driven by COMMON PURPOSE.
Naija, we don't need common blood to
live as one, all we need is a common purpose.
Nigeria
is a good land, follow your dream.
God
bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Amen.
